Scented candles are big business – and great for hiding unwanted doggy smells. But did you know that many of them are bad for you, the environment and your pet?

That’s why Rachel Watts, the dog-lover behind Doodles Dogfectionery, set out to make an all-natural alternative – and her decadent range of candles, melts and diffusers are about as eco-friendly as you can get.

When we burn candles made of paraffin, all manner of pollutants are released into the atmosphere which we then breathe in. But candles made of soy – like the ones from Sniffs – are different.

Because soy is an entirely natural product, it doesn’t release any chemical nasties into the air. It also burns clean. On average, candles made of soy last around twice as long as those made of paraffin.

Sniffs’ candles and melts are all blended and poured by Rachel at her home in Leicestershire. They are also scented with 100% natural essential oils, such as Cedarwood & Geranium and Lavender & Patchouli.

The products don’t have any dyes or colourants, and come with uncoated ribbon wicks for a clean and consistent burn. Some of the candles also come in repurposed paint pots, which is a great idea.

Its reed diffusers are made with coconut oil and are also scented with essential oils. They are paraben and phalate-free too, and come packed in plastic-free tubs, making them as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Melts cost Β£4.50 while the candles start from Β£8 and the diffusers are Β£12. If you spend more than Β£35, delivery is free. Get your paws on the products now by visiting the Sniffs Candles & Scents website.
